Grove Street Games is seeking a full-time, experienced level designer, who is passionate about creating immersive and engaging worlds for players. We are looking for a motivated, well-organized person who can work well on individual and team-oriented tasks with a wealth of experience they are ready to share with the team. The successful candidate needs to demonstrate the ability to blend beautiful environments with technical gameplay to create levels the players tell their friends about. They will work together with the art team to design systems for building worlds in both artificial and natural environments, and then execute that design in level construction in Unreal Editor.

Responsibilities:

• Lead a team in creating immersive levels that blend gameplay, story and visual appeal.
• Collaborate with gameplay programmers, designers, QA, and environment artists on a daily basis to keep goals aligned.
• Provide support and documentation to the team to enable an optimal workflow.
• Stay up to date on latest trends and tools available in the industry
• Participate and contribute creatively in team discussions, critiques, and game development ideas

Requirements:

• 4 years of experience in professional game development
• 2 years of experience in Unreal Engine
• Strong understanding of game principles and level design principles
• Experience managing a team and keeping to deadlines
• Robust knowledge of current games
• Demonstrated eye for detail, creativity, and passion for design.
• Excellent communication skills, both written & verbal
• Detail-oriented & extremely well-organized
• Relocation to Gainesville – this job is not remote

Good to Have:

• Experience shipping AAA titles
• Knowledge of traditional art pipelines
• Familiarity with UE Blueprint scripting
• Creative problem-solving skills
